| Job Description |
DESCRIPTION:
Prepares 2D Computer Aided Design drawings of moderate to advanced complexity.
Prepares layouts and/or schematics for conceptual and detailed designs of moderate to advanced complexity.
Checks work done by other Designers.
Provides close interface with, and promotes the understanding of, other discipline functions.
Conducts reviews of model using 3D Review platform and creates 3D models of moderate to advanced complexity.
Reviews drawings, and vendor equipment documentation of moderate to advanced complexity from both within the discipline as well as from other disciplines for compliance with project requirements and actively seeks resolution.
Reviews fabricator drawings.
Applies project drawing standards to design drawings.
Performs bulk material take-off analysis and tabulations.
Participates in people development through mentoring of less experienced Designers.
Other related duties/functions as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
10 years of related experience + 2 to 5 years of offshore experience.
Two-year technical degree or equivalent preferred.
Advanced computer and software skills to include the use of CAD, word processing, and email as well as the advanced use of spreadsheets.
The use of Discipline Specific software such as Intergraph SmartPlant, PDMS, Microstation may be required.
Applied working knowledge in design of electrical installations for oil & gas or petrochemical facilities.
Applied working knowledge of electrical equipment and materials use in hazardous "classified" areas.
Applied working knowledge of NEC or IEC standards. |
