| Job Description |
Minimum of one (1) project as Sr. Heavy Lift & Transportation Engineer in Refining and Petrochemical projects or related.
-Responsible for the planning management and execution of heavy lift and transport operations. Create and develop heavy lift and transport schemes. Participate in development of project execution strategy, design and constructability reviews. Selection and supervision of HL&T contractors.
-Responsible for constructability input throughout project development and execution to ensure a positive, safe and efficient outcome for the company’s projects and proposals.
Essential Job Functions:
-Create and develop heavy lift and transport schemes.
-Participate in development of project execution strategy, design and constructability reviews etc.
-Liaise with engineering groups to ensure designs are in compliance with constructability needs.
-Liaise with procurement, traffic and shipping groups to develop technical details of equipment delivery.
-Selection and supervision of heavy lift and transport contractors.
-Production, review and issue of technical documentation to ensure compliance with safety, quality, schedule and budget requirements.
-Manage and co-ordinate heavy lift operations and personnel.
-Manage financial performance of heavy lift and transport contracts.
-Provide support to site operations as required, ensuring safety, quality, adherence to procedures and efficient use of resources (equipment and labor).
-Development of the company’s systems to support construction lead project philosophy.
-Recording and reporting project progress as required by management.
Essential Job Functions Under Certain Circumstances:
-Writes progress reports to be submitted to the client and company management, as requested.
-May be required to assist lower level engineers.
-Performs other related duties.
Skills Requirements:
-Must be able to read and interpret Blueprints and specifications.
-Must be able to interface with engineering to make changes that benefit the project economically.
-Possesses high degree of understanding of the technical elements of the work they are supervising, i.e., heavy lift, transport, mechanical installation, rigging, etc.
-Uses intuition and experience to complement data and develop alternative solutions
-Must be fluent in commonly used schedule and progressing tools and know how to use them to predict and report progress.
-Must be able to recognize change to the specification and contract and manage it.
-Must be familiar with all elements of running a safe project and know how to impact them for a positive result.
-Good communication skills, both written and verbal.
Education and Experience Requirements:
-Engineering degree, Bachelor of Science (Engineering) degree or equivalent required in mechanical engineering, civil engineering or a related field.
-10 years experience required with planning heavy lift and transport operations and with their execution in the field.
