| Job Description |
Project Controls Manager for control system projects in the oil and gas, refining, and petro-chemical industries for our Houston, TX location.
Relocation is not available.
Travel for this position is < 10%.
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelors degree and 10 yrs experience in Project Controls in the Oil and Gas, Refining, and/or Petro-Chemical Industries.
Job Responsibilities:
-Manages, coordinates and reviews the work of the Project Controls group to develop, implement, maintain and reconcile program control databases and reports.
-Works with project teams providing project scheduling and cost controls leadership and support.
-Reviews project plans and goals and to directly and indirectly determine resource and scheduling requirements to achieve them.
-Establishes and reinforces work processes and procedures for cost, schedule and document control.
-Leads team of Project Controls professionals in the preparation or review of conceptual and detailed estimates and subsequent cost and schedule control.
-Fully understands contract types, project planning and cost controls and project execution work processes engineering, procurement, construction and commissioning.
-Directs the efforts of providing project ledgers showing budget line entries, commitments, expenditures and forecasts.
-Ensures the integrity of the project budget through approved scope changes, fiscal changes and contingency reallocation.
Requirements:
-Preferred bachelors degree in Engineering, construction management, or logistics background.
-10 years of Project Controls experience in the Oil and Gas, Refining, and/or Petro-Chemical Industries.
-Control Systems knowledge beneficial.
-Experience in planning and scheduling, cost control functions and estimating systems.
-Ability to manage multiple complex projects directly or indirectly.
-The ability to effectively communicate and present complex program proposals and reports to executive level management.
-Strong ability to interface with lower level personnel, executive management, customers, and outside vendors.
-Advanced skills and experience using project management systems, accounting interfaces, cost analysis and reporting on large design-construct projects.
-Proven track record of establishing processes and procedures.
-Preferred strong experience with Primavera P3/P5, Excel, Access, MS Project, and knowledge of Workbench, Clarity, and Oracle.
-Strong analytical and problem solving skills along with attention to detail are essential.
-Must be able to work with a minimum of supervision.
-Must be willing to travel as required.
