| Job Description |
Main Function:
The position is accountable to effectively plan and manage the engineering design, procurement, construction, and start up to meet the project objectives.
Key responsibilities include planning and directing the activities of engineering and construction contractor personnel to support Operations and Maintenance projects.
Roles & Responsibilities:
Be an active participant in the Safety programs and achieving safety goals.
Provide Project Engineering support to ensure scope is complete, contractor design is complete and reviewed, schedule is in place and followed, material is ordered and staged and coordinate all project activities.
Work closely with the three Cook Inlet facility engineers to develop project scopes and complete front end engineering to define projects for capital and opex budgets.
Participate in various asset and project planning, execution, and organization strategy sessions as requested by the Cook Inlet Operations Manager.
Assure process hazard review and safety in design standards are used and documented.
Ensure that all design work is completed to appropriate industry standards, and is consistent with the project objectives of reliability, safety, operability and cost effectiveness.
Coordinate with appropriate engineering groups to ensure timely resolution of engineering deficiencies is received with the least construction impact based on corrective design and material requirements.
Review weekly work schedules for proper level of detail and adherence to master schedule.
Monitor field construction activities to ensure design requirements are met in compliance with pipe drawings, specifications, and applicable codes.
Ensure work is scheduled per project milestones.
Minimize change orders and participate in evaluation of required change orders to verify approved costs are appropriate and changes are incorporated without schedule impact.
Complete periodic audits of fabrication work.
Liaise with Inspectors to assure quality requirements are met.
Monitor and manage overall progress and deviations from agreed plans. Act to prevent or remedy shortfalls as appropriate throughout the fabrication period before there is significant cost/ schedule/ quality impact.
Ensure that contractor works to the agreed site schedule.
Monitor construction as-built and close out activities.
Education:
Required Level:Commensurate training
Preferred:Engineering or other Technical Degree
Qualifications:
Ten to fifteen years construction management experience in supervising structural crews.
Experience with offshore production operations and facilities is desired.
Commitment to the implementation of ConocoPhillips Health, Safety, and Environmental goals and objectives.
Ability to monitor variances from plans and conduct swift implementation of appropriate preventative or remedial measures.
Must be a self starter with good interpersonal and communication skills.
Computer skills including Microsoft Office.
