| Job Description |
Duties:
May serve as the lead designer on a large and/or technically complex project planning and technically supervising design activities with responsibility for the complete design of a major component or system of a project or may serve in an individual contributor role as a technical expert planning, scheduling and completing broadly defined and/or technically complex design assignments.
Independently performs most assignments. Develops, plans, evaluates and recommends solutions for difficult and/or complex problems.
Prepares all types of designs, layouts, basic plans, studies and/or calculations in conformance with applicable codes and design standards from preliminary sketches, diagrams and other information.
Frequently required to exercise independent judgment on design procedures and courses of action to be pursued in order to efficiently produce a satisfactory finished design.
Expected to explore and regularly suggest new approaches and concepts in design of components with the objective of producing better designs at a lower cost.
Provides technical guidance, instruction and direction to others in areas of expertise.
Prepares and checks lists of materials or specifications utilizing knowledge and/or engineering practices and fundamentals, shop and erection practices, etc.
Checks own work for practicality from the standpoint of fabrication, installation or maintenance.
Plans work and meets deadlines without supervisor action.
Qualifications:
5yrs of PDS Experience layout and development
2 years as a squad leader or unit lead
15-20 YEARS EXPERIENCE IN THE FOLLOWING:
ETHYLENE CRACKERS, POLYMERS, EO/PO, GLYCOLS AND POLYESTERS
ONLY CHEMICAL/PETROCHEMICAL BACKGROUND.
NOT LOOKING FOR REFINERY EXPERIENCE.
