| Job Description |
Minimum 20 years experience of drilling engineering related work both at field and head office level.
Duties:
Prepares well cost estimates and AFEs for drilling and workover projects. Researches and develops drilling/workover programs, which are cost effective and complies with our clients standards and are technically sound.
Prepares / Reviews final well histories for the drilling and completion phase.
Writes well abandonment procedures and reviews well completion programs.
Monitors daily drilling/workover operations including progress reports, cost control and equipment service.
Provides technical advice and on-site assistance if well condition demands.
Co-ordinates with Exploration, Construction, and Production departments during pre-well planning and during the drilling/workover operations.
Provides meaningful supervision, direction, leadership, and training the drilling engineer.
Co-ordinates pre-well planning with all service companies which are involved in the execution of drilling/workover projects.
Familiarizes himself with any and all specific supervisory responsibilities that are set out in HSE Standards, Codes of Practice and Procedures.
Responsible for tubular requirements, places orders according to engineering designs and ensures that all equipment required to complete drilling/workover projects is available.
Raises purchase requisitions and co-ordinates with the Purchasing and Materials department for the timely supply of rental/buy-out items from overseas and the technical evaluation of bids.
You must be proficient in the use of directional drilling computer software and able to assist in the provision of advice and analysis to the client representative at the work site. Ensure well profile plots are kept up- to-date and provide the client representative with directional survey data. Awareness of the client’s surveying requirements are a plus. Maintain records of all directional drilling equipment at well site, including dimensional data and condition. A desire for variety in working conditions is essential, as this job occasionally involves physical exertion and outside work.
A bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Science, Geology or other technical discipline preferred or equivalent experience as a Driller/Tool Pusher or above is required for this position. In addition, should have appropriate offshore certification.
- Should be open to Algeria and/or Saudi Arabia.
- Typically 28 on/28 off rotation.
- Will be living in a camp setting
