| Job Description |
Our client, in the Houston area, seeks a Principal Pressure Vessel Engineer.
Responsibilities and Requirements include:
-10 years engineering experience in the Design of Pressure Vessels and Atmospheric Storage Tanks.
-Experience in companies providing engineering services to the Chemical, Refining and Petrochemical industry.
-Experience must cover the area of Conceptual Engineering, FEED Front End Engineering Design, Detail Design and Consultation.
-Minimum BS in Mechanical engineering.
-In depth knowledge of pressure vessel and Atmospheric Tank.
-Familiar with the ANSI, ASME, API, ASTM, AWS, AISI, NACE and OSHA standards.
-Able to perform calculations with, and experience in using software such as COMPRESS for Pressure Vessels and TANK for Atmospheric Tanks design, and use CADD to produce vessel drawings.
-Knowledge of all technical activities associated with the design and procurement of Pressure Vessels and Atmospheric Storage Tanks in accordance with client requirements, codes, standards, etc.
-Responsible for the complete cycle of equipment specification, supplier selection, and supplier drawing and documents review, as well as prepare Technical specifications for Pressure Vessels and Atmospheric Storage Tanks, as well as Technical evaluation of bids
-Engineering Calculations for Dimensioning and design of Pressure Vessels and Atmospheric Storage Tanks, and prepare equipment data sheets, equipment requisitions for enquiry, and requisitions for purchase.
-Vendor documents and drawings review, and prepare of Technical Bid tabs for major equipments Construction.
-Perform Technical BID Clarifications.
-Design and specify major equipment such as Horizontal and Vertical vessels Subject to process Pressure Scrubbers, Drums and mechanical separators, Columns or Towers, Spherical vessel, bulk vertical storage tanks, etc.
-Work as discipline lead engineer/specialist in both minor and major projects managing engineering analysis and design of components by ensuring the work is executed in accordance with project design basis, quality plans, procedures, schedules and budgets
-Develop design basis for projects when assigned as lead engineer/specialist.
-Knowledge in discipline engineering design and analysis techniques, in advanced analysis methods, in the discipline groupâs analysis software and design methodologies, and the discipline drawing practice both specification and interpretation of content.
-Assist Department Manager and/or Engineering Manager with development and maintenance of department standards, specifications, etc., as well as perform mechanical engineering studies, prepare reports and calculations e.g. for cost saving, optimization, design of fixtures.
-Attend equipment testing in factory and prepare test reports, and review of internal engineering drawings and documents IDC and provide necessary mechanical engineering comments with regards to machinery requirements, mechanical integrity and relative cost.
-Evaluate alternative machinery technology and keep track of technological developments, evolutions and breakthroughs in rotating equipment as well as changes in applicable codes and standards API, ISO, ASME, etc, as well as prepare Department Working Procedure for Mechanical Department. |
