| Job Description |
Our client, a consulting engineering firm, seeks a Senior Cost Engineer.
Supervises cost estimating, analysis, and control activities. Supports project organizational and administrative activities. Identifies cost trends for management attention. May review invoices for correct collection of revenue. Responsible for cost engineering, cost estimating, and cost analysis/control activities for small to medium size projects.
The Senior Cost Engineer will be responsible for the development and maintenance of the Project Code of Accounts, development and maintenance of the Total Installed Cost TIC Budget utilizing ePCWorks. Additional duties include forecast coordination, change management, cash flows and Project Financial Status ReportingPFSR.
Other duties include analyses and input to the Monthly Progress Report on cost related issues and production of a separate internal monthly cost report. Interfaces directly with Project Accounting and Project Procurement to resolve discrepancies. Applicant will provide technical and operational direction to assigned cost personnel. Prepares detailed staffing plans for cost engineering activities. Prepares or reviews distributable and/or contractors indirect cost estimates, and develops the basis for temporary facilities, miscellaneous construction services, construction tools and equipment, non manual manpower, startup services, payroll taxes and insurance, camp facilities and operation, and other field office costs. Researches and develops or reviews tax estimates,
including federal, state, and local tax issues. Assists in developing or develops foreign currency and exchange rate estimates.
Job Quailfications:
Bachelors Degree in Engineering, Construction Management or Business , or a minimun of 4 years additional Project Controls experience.
Experience with process plants and petrochemical facilities is preferred. Excellent verbal and written communication skills to present data and analysis to PC, other groups, internal mgmt and Client Mgmt. Leadership skills, supervisory skills, and the ability to adapt project controls principles into a multi-company environment is essential. A working knowledge of planning work processes related to cost engineering activities is required. Familiarity with industry and company standards, procedures,
organization and automated systems preferred.
Familiarity with international project execution is preferred.
This position is for the office in Houston or various field assignments on major projects in the US. Including IL, IN, KS, NE, ND, MO, TX and MS.
