Meet Our Leadership
Chris Bergaila is the founder of The Bergaila Companies. Ms. Bergaila established her recruiting enterprise in 1987, focusing primarily with the Oil and Gas Industry. Under her leadership, The Bergaila Companies developed a well-respected national presence in the technical recruiting industry. With her guidance, The Bergaila Companies were the recipient of numerous awards including the Inc. 500 fastest growing companies in the US and the fastest growing companies in Houston, seven times each, collectively. Ms. Bergaila graduated Summa cum Laude from the University of Wisconsin and completed her graduate work in Political Science and Behavioral Psychology at the University of Houston. Ms. Bergaila retired in January of 2012 and remains an active leader in the community. In her free time, she enjoys reading and traveling the world with her husband, Joe, and Shih Tsu, Sally.
Liz Gray, co-founder of The Bergaila Companies, has served in leadership capacity since 1987 and is a current member of the Board of Directors. Ms. Gray maintains an important role at The Bergaila Companies as a veteran of the U.S. Oil & Gas Staffing Industry. Ms. Gray’s philosophy of business, in which all Employees and Clients are valued, guided the firm to industry leader status. Working to build enduring relationships with Clients and Employees alike, Ms. Gray is responsible for creating the vision and strategy for the organization. Liz Gray and her family live on a ranch outside of Houston. When she’s not leading The Bergaila Companies, Liz can be found on the waters of the Texas Gulf Coast, enjoying time with her husband and children.
Joe Bergaila is co-owner of The Bergaila Companies. Mr. Bergaila is a results-oriented professional with over 25 years of experience in Human Resources, Marketing, Recruiting, Employee Relations and Office Management. Over the past two decades, Mr. Bergaila established strong Client relationships across various geographic locations and in multiple industries including Oil & Gas, Petrochemical, Civil, Infrastructure, Architectural and IT. Throughout his career, Mr. Bergaila demonstrated creative marketing and recruiting strategies that proved successful across industry lines. Aside from leading The Bergaila Companies, Joe enjoys golfing, snowboarding, and deep-sea fishing.
Mark Gray returned to The Bergaila Companies in January of 2012. Mr. Gray has extensive experience in the Oil and Gas Engineering sector and has consistently held high level management positions throughout the Engineering, Procurement and Construction Management Industries. In his current role, Mr. Gray is responsible for the commercial strategy and development of the organization. This includes activities relating to business development, accounting and finance and operational excellence. Mr. Gray has a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from Texas A&M University and is a Registered Professional Engineer in Texas and Alaska. In addition to leading the Bergaila Companies, Mr. Gray enjoys traveling with his family, offshore angling, and skiing.
Scott Carman joined The Bergaila Companies in 2006 as Technical Recruiter. In 2008, he was promoted to a management-level position with the following primary responsibilities: Recruiting Management, Account Management, and Organizational Development. Currently, Mr. Carman holds the title of Director of Recruiting Operations, overseeing all aspects of personnel resource gathering and leading a team of exceptionally qualified Technical Recruiters. Additionally, Mr. Carman is actively involved with Executive Leadership regarding long-term operational and strategic direction. Mr. Carman graduated Cum Laude with a BA in English from Hartwick College in Oneonta, NY. Apart from The Bergaila Companies, Mr. Carman enjoys spending time with his family, running marathons, and keeping up with his unshakable loyalty to the Washington Redskins.
Bill Clark joined The Bergaila Companies in 2011 as Director of Business Development. Mr. Clark has over three decades of domestic and international Oil & Gas Industry experience. He excelled in Business Development and Operations Management capacities for nationally recognized companies. Mr. Clark is currently responsible for the development of new business and the expansion of services to existing Clients. Mr. Clark’s unique combination of the Oil and Gas Staffing Industry and Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) experience creates added value as he assists Clients in aligning the right workforce solution with their resource needs. Mr. Clark holds a BS in Industrial Technology from East Tennessee State University. Outside of The Bergaila Companies, Mr. Clark is an avid golfer, fancies himself as an accomplished BBQ Chef, and enjoys spending quality time with his family.
